Are you attending the CMS Expo Learning Conference this year in Chicago, May 3-5th? If you are, you don’t want to miss this session!

From 1:00 - 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 5, I will be teaching Drupal SEO and Promotion Techniques in the Drupal Core CMS training track. My presentation is targeted towards administrators, content creation, businesspeople, and developers. So, basically anyone who is attending.

Here is a quick overview from my session page:

Three Drupal Third-party Providers worth Checking out

On Monday, I talked about some of the advantages of Drupal. They are many, and one of them are the third-party providers. Here are some great third-party providers to explore:

Artisteer

Don’t have the programming skills to create killer Drupal themes? No problem. With Artisteer, you can customize your themes with ease.

DrupalZilla

DrupalZilla has tips, information and tutorials galore. They cover everything from Linux to Firefox with simplicity and ease.

Drupal 7.0 Alpha 2 Released

Today, a second Alpha version of Drupal 7 has been released. This gives developers a chance to further test, tinker, and give feedback on this new version.

The new version fixes some of the problems with the previous version of Alpha. Druapl.org has a full rundown of the details.

Five Reasons Why Drupal is Wildly Popular

Open source is quickly becoming the success story of this decade, and we are only two months into it! The momentum actually started a few years back with the Internet’s takeover of the first world’s attention, but I don’t think Dries Buytaert is complaining much. There are several different content management systems available to build your website with, but each one has their subtle differences.

iPad + Wired Magazine = WIN (Video)

As most first world countries know, Apple released the iPad a few weeks ago to the loud and eager roar from brand enthusiasts. Still, there were many skeptics: "Will this match the success of the iPod or the iPhone?", "Is $500-800 too much?", "Am I selling my soul to Apple?"

Below is perhaps the best example of how the iPad creates a new user experience. The video shows how WIRED Magazine leverages their brand through the new technology. After watching this video, any skepticism you have may just wash away in a wave of calm enlightenment.

Finding conversion problems with usability testing

Usability testing is an easy and objective way to find out what problems users are going to have with your site. Although it's used widely, some call it the secret weapon of web design because it is so often ignored by site designers. The reasons are many, from arrogance to lack of client support to funds. However, in this day where a 1% increase in web site usability can mean a 50% increase in sales, do not leave this tool in the box.

Drupal Releases New Version of Mollom

After a year of no significant changes, Drupal is rolling out a powerful new version of Mollom. The team, including Dries Buytaert, Daniel F. Kudwien (sun), Dave Reid, and Keith Smith, worked for several months on the 1.11 release.

Please Vote for Volacci’s DrupalCon SF 2010 Sessions Now!

DrupalCon San Francisco 2010 is only 62 days away (April 19th - 21st) and it is shaping up to be the best DrupalCon yet! With over 400 sessions submitted for the conference, there is enough Drupal expertise to hold three complete DrupalCons! Unfortunately, there isn’t enough slots for all 400 sessions, so DrupalCon San Francisco 2010 has dusted off the democratic gavel and declared an ol’ fashioned voting!

Using analytics data to make SEO decisions

If you sell widgets. The metrics you’re measuring for each keyword are Rank in Google, Orders, Revenue, Profit and Profit Per Order... For the sake of simplicity, we’ll say that you only sell one product: the widget.

Google Buzz Video Trifecta

Yesterday’s Volacci blog post, The Buzz on Google Buzz, gave you the skinny on Google Buzz, and it’s relationship with Twitter and Facebook. There are lots in’s and out’s about Buzz, many heaving plates of information to digest, and it takes some time to soak it all in. In fact, I wasn’t even able to touch on how it integrates with mobile, Flickr, Picasa, and Google Reader. So for more clarity on the issue, I have posted a video trifecta on Google Buzz after the jump.
