Using OpenCalais' bulk processing to tag existing content
Chances are, you have read a piece of content on a web site and seen a section that suggests other pages with similar content. OpenCalais can even create this organization retroactively. Maybe you've got a site with a lot of content already. You can use OpenCalais' Bulk Processing to go through your site and create tags for each piece of content. This is a very quick way to organize your content, you just need to carry out the following steps:
1. After you have OpenCalais installed on your Drupal site, point your browser to http://www.yourDrupalsite.com/admin/settings/calais/ bulk-process, or navigate to Administer | Site configuration | Calais Configuration | Calais Bulk Processing.
2. The settings are straightforward. Select the Content Type, Nodes per batch, Term Relevance Threshold for Calais, and Throttle processing and then click Bulk Process.
3. You should see a success message.
4. Now that all your content has been processed by OpenCalais, there are many things you can do with your content that wasn't available to you before, like More Like This blocks and RDF.
We will take a look at More Like This Blocks and RDF next time.
