January 15, 2001 Drupal 1.0.0 was launched by Dries Buytaert. Nine years later, it has continually improved and now has a large thriving community. What started out as a hobby for Dries was recently named the runaway success of open source in 2009. Here is to many more happy birthdays Drupal!
